Climate Change
Simply climate change is a change that occurs in nature that makes the climate change. Climate
change is not a hidden topic as we all know it is being drastically changed in a few years of period.
The main reason might be us, humans who force to change the climate in an unusual way. Let us not
go further. Firstly, climate change is the change in weather, like cold or hot, most of the people are
saying, the reason for the change in climate has been drastically defected, the main reason is said to
be global warming, as we know we must have seen in the news or heard from our elders about
“Global Warming”, which is said to be the main cause of it.
Let us know about “Global warming”, it is nothing but just pollution done by humans. There are
many types of pollution- air, water etc these pollution causes global warming and it drastically
changes the actual or usual pattern of climate.
Our elders are saying the climate has been changing either fast or slow, like the flowers are blooming
without following their usual pattern. Some are also saying it is chaos for the world, it might be,
because the way of change in the patterns of rain, seasons, climate, is not usual, the glaciers are
melting faster and faster day by day.
The cause or the causes for the climate change are such as rainfall in a different season, hotter days
in different seasons etc. These causes can also lead to big disasters such as famine etc.
The steps that are being taken for the prevention of further causes. As mentioned earlier about
global warming, we can prevent it by using less plastics, plying vehicle should be reduced, the
chemicals from the factories, industries should not be dumped in the water bodies, saving trees as
much as we can, planting more trees. Theses are the basic steps to prevent it.
To conclude, climate change was not a worrying topic in the older days but now it is so. It is not
normal for it is changing in an unusual manner. So we must step forward and do as much as we can
for the climate to be as normal as it was earlier.

Climate Change
Climate is the earth’s normal weather over a very long time. Usually it takes hundreds or thousands
of years to change the climate. Recently, it is noticed that climate is changing much faster. It will be
harder for plants, animals and people over the world to survive due to the changing climate.
The main cause of climate change is humans. We use fossil fuels, cut tress even when it is not
needed because of these activities greenhouse gases are released like carbon dioxide, methane.
These gases are the main reason for the global warming which influences the climate. Climate
change is not just change in temperature of the different areas of the world but is also change in the
pattern of rainfall, wind patterns, cyclone, rise in sea level. It affects all major life groups on the
planet in some way or the other.
Rapid industrialisation, increase in the population growth and pollution and pollution are leading to
climate change. The reason why climate change is dangerous is because it disturbs overall ecology of
the planet. The most significant challenge we encounter today is climate change. Therefore many
effects of climate change such as increase in occurrence of floods, cyclones are seen. Climate change
also a great impact on different areas like health, agriculture, infrastructure. Due to the rise in
temperature the vector borne diseases like malaria, dengue are occurring and the pandemic caused
by coronavirus is not hidden such viruses have evolved which can be linked to climate change. The
rise in temperature cause drought which affect agriculture. The occurrence of disasters caused by
change in climate destroy infrastructure.
To prevent climate change we can follow different steps like, planting of trees, use of renewable
source of energy like solar energy, use of eco friendly products, reduce use of cars, use five R’s-
“Recycle, Reuse, Reduce, Refuse and Recover”. Recycle means to transform plastic products into
resource, Reuse means to re-utilise the same plastic bags for same purpose or the other, Reduce
means to avoid plastics and use biodegradable products, Refuse means not using plastic and Recover
means making new things out of waste plastics.
It is high time to focus on climate change or else it will be extremely dangerous for every living
species. Climate change is global problem thus the world must be united to solve this problem before
it is too late.

WORLD WATER DAY, 2024

The Sulabh Sanitation Club (SSC) of GSSS, Sombaria had organised a programme in the school on 22/03/2024 on the occasion of World Water Day (WWD), 2024. The theme of this year’s WWD was ‘WATER FOR PEACE’.

In this regard, in the morning session during the school’s morning assembly, students of the SSC had delivered speeches on the the proper use of water, preservation of water and inculcation of proper hygiene in everyday life. An oath on the same was also sworn by all.

During the afternoon session a short rally of the students holding various placards depicting and imparting awareness on the said theme was executed from the school to about 2 kms in the school premises to and fro. The students’ rally was accompanied by the School Principal Mr. Prakash Sharma, SSC Teacher and Guide Miss Sweata Subba, the teaching and non-teaching staff of the school. Prior to the rally the Principal had also thrown some light before all on the day’s theme.

The rally was followed by Intensive Cleanliness Drive in and around the school campus executed by the students and staff of the school.

Furthermore, for maintaining proper cleanliness and hygiene in the school, a couple of dustbins were donated by the Hon’ble Panchayat -cum- SMC member Mr. Man Bir Subba. A couple of dustbins were also donated by the School Principal himself.

The WWD, 2024 observed at GSSS Sombaria not only enlightened everyone obout the utmost necessity and proper usage of water in everyday life but also fostered better cleanliness and hygiene in the institution.
