Samikshya Das Mohapatra
Samikshya after having studied Psychology, she moved into the development Sector and co-founded the Sulabh School Sanitation Club in 2009. Still heavily involved in creative, her main focus is making sure that Sanitation Club is an inspiring place to be.
She has been associated with several UNICEF projects in Bhutan as well as Nepal and was selected as Youth representative in Bio Vision , Lyon France during 2010. She has also worked with many charities and Foundations on the issue of Menstrual Hygiene Management. Her area of work in WASH started with community WASH project but then on shifted to school WASH. This eventually led her to specialize in addressing the issue of menstrual hygiene management in rural and urban India.
At present she has around 12 years of experience in the field of menstrual hygiene management with special focus on training school children, teachers, health workers and community workers and government officials on Menstrual Hygiene Management and has developed an interactive curriculum and a training module that can be used for MHM education. The training module is not only fun, interesting and interactive but is also based on the concept of touch, feel and learn. This thereby not only helps in creating awareness through a fun way but also help in the breaking of the stigma and hesitation that surrounds this topic.
Samikshya currently is working with Sulabh International Sanitation Club and lives in Delhi and knows from personal experience how important and valuable mentoring can be in helping young people achieve their goals. Therefore, working in an organisation where mentoring relationships are developed and supported was something that she knew she wanted to be a part of. She loves being able to work in the WaSH in School sector using her passion for marketing and social media.
You’ll usually find Samikshya refining processes, promoting internal culture, finding new ways to grow and improve the organisation and keeping the Chief Coordinator in check.

Our
Core Values
We say what we mean, and mean what we say. We stick to our commitments, treat everyone equitably, and communicate openly and honestly.
We create an environment where every associate is empowered to contribute and is recognized for their effort.
We shift, we grow, we stumble, we pivot and we continually refine our work and scope—yet amidst the ever-moving landscape of development, there are core values that act as constants for Sulabh Sanitation Club.
The Sulabh Sanitation Club is a place for children & youths to congregate, exchange ideas and take action to make India a better home for all. Here at Sanitation Cub, we host a range of programmes to create deeper understanding of social issues and build social empathy. We use multiple modalities to engage children & youth which include simulations, workshops, film screenings, dance, art, dialogues and much more!
